Service: Funding and investment

A bike shop and café on the outskirts of Birmingham. The team are passionate about green travel, using cycling to improve health and mental health and supporting social action and community development.

E-bikebrum runs local groups to help people to try and enjoy cycling to boost wellbeing, improve health, experience nature and get to work. They work with young people to help to engage in positive activities, new mums to help them to get out and old people to help them to keep active. They have diverse income streams including the sale of e-bikes, café and café events, contracts, bike to work scheme, and cycling holidays.

We worked with Chris and Jacqui at the start of their journey. An amazing and passionate couple who have so many incredible ideas and plans. We worked closely with them to develop their business plan, cashflow forecast and social impact model and supported them to self-evaluate their investment readiness. Liaising closely with our social investment partner organisation the Key Fund, Ebikebrum secured working capital and funds for stock.

Business Planning For Investment

Without our successful social investment application with the Key Fund, we would not have been able to move forward with our planned projects for 2020. The investment provided the security to continue with our growth plan and it is incredible the difference this has made, we have in a short period of time, created lasting relationships with major organisations and have had the ability to promote our social enterprise and the work we do in the community with this investment. We are now seeing the positive impacts of this work and the future of our enterprise now seems much more certain than before our social investment was secured.
